FLORIDA KEYS FLY FISHING AND LIGHT TACKLE FISHING GUIDE
Tarpon, Bonefish, Permit, Snook, Redfish, Barracuda & more!

About Capt. David Dinsmore
Capt. David is a former member of Team USA and the University of Miami Men’s Diving team. While living in Miami, David found a love for fishing the waters of South Florida. When he wasn’t in class, training, or traveling for competitions, you could find him tying flies, casting a fly rod in the side yard of his house, and fishing whenever he could. After completing his collegiate career he decided to move down to the Florida Keys to pursue a career as a fishing guide. During his athletic career, David was a member of Team USA’s National Team, which gave him the opportunity to travel and compete amongst some of the best divers in the world.
From a bronze medal at the Junior World Championships to a bronze medal at the FINA World Cup, as well as four conference titles for the University of Miami and one NCAA title, he continued to push himself to be better and to learn how to enjoy the process.
David’s passion for the outdoors goes beyond fishing the flats of the Florida Keys. In his free time he tries to get his young bird dog Rusty in the field as much as he can, as well as traveling the world and bringing his fly rod with him everywhere he goes. The challenge of the pursuit is what drives him, not every fishing and hunting trip goes as planned, but it pushes him to work harder and go the extra mile.

Florida Keys Fly Fishing and Light Tackle Fishing
The back country of the Florida Keys is unlike anywhere else in the United States. From the brackish waters of Everglades National Park to the crystal clear flats of the Florida Keys, the opportunities are endless for sight-fishing Bonefish, Permit, Tarpon, Redfish, Barracuda, and Snook.
Sight Fishing on the Flats
Sight fishing in less than a foot of water is truly amazing. Seeing these fish in crystal clear water, having the opportunity to present your fly or bait to the fish, and watching the fish eat your fly or bait is about as good as it gets in the fishing world. We are fortunate to be able to do this every day here in the beautiful Florida Keys, and we can’t wait for you to book a trip to experience this!

Testimonials

“Can’t say enough good things about David – put us on fish constantly, including my first tarpon and Islamorada bonefish. Incredible trip, seriously awesome captain and a pleasure to be on the boat with.”
– Remington A.

“We had such a great 2 days fishing with David! Day one, we had tons of fly shots at big Oceanside Tarpon. Day two, we caught and jumped a bunch of juvenile Tarpon and Snook on fly in the backcountry. We also fished a Bonefish and Redfish flat. David is a very motivated young guide. He has a past of competing internationally with team USA’s diving team- and his experience in that world has influenced his ability to effectively coach you through situations while sight fishing. We had so much fun and I would recommend him to anyone!”
